National Piano Guild Auditions
Another Success Story!

The Auditions were held at Denton, Cottier & Daniels in the Medley Center Mall on April 6 and 8. Everyon passed with flying colors again this year.  The 16 participants form our studio were:

     Stefanie Bartlett, Loryn Bucci, Michael Coffey, Sarah Grace Fernaays, Caroline Hems, Blythe Jakubowski, Chase Jarrett, Jorn Jarrett, Maria Leonardo, Caitlin Phillips, Veronica Phillips. Kirsten Reimers, Allison Robinson, Steven Skrtic, Suzannah Skrtic and Alexandra Webb.  CONGRATULATIONS!

Annual Spring Recital - June 4, 2 pm
Faith Lutheran Church - 2576 Browncroft Blvd., Penfield  

Our spring recital is for everyone, new students, prospective students, students who've been with the studio awhile and adult students too.  Bring relatives, friends, whoever wants to hear your best work.  This year, there will be a sign up sheet in the studio to bring something for refreshments.  You can also email Mrs. D if that's easier and she will add it to the list.  Usually soda, juice, cookies and other finger foods are fine.  Thanks for you help. 

A reminder: Since so many of you played memorized pieces for both Gold Cup and the Guild, you will be allowed to use music for the sping recital if you are more comfortable.  You may also use songs you already have memorized, especially if they were for Guild.

Summer Break

The studio will take a break after the June 4 recital until July 11, at which time the summer schedule will begin.  I plan to teach Tuesdays Wednesdays, and Thursdays during the summer, depending on how many students wish to continue with summer lessons.  There will be some adult lessons during the break, generally for those who don't participate in Gold Cup, Guild, or Spring Recital and new students. 

Studio Updates

Email adresses.  Please check at your next lesson to make sure I have a useable email address for you.
Studio Library/borrowed books.   If you have a book from the studio that is borrowed, please add your name to the "check out" list.  Record the name of the book and date you borrowed it.  If you have studio music that you are NOT using, please return it.  I am arranging a library area for student use.  I hope to be able to loan out scale, etude, and exercise books, as well as literature and composer series material.
Summer Schedule.  I intend to bring blank schedule forms to the spring recital so we can try to have it set before the summer session begins.  If you know your availability prior to school being closed, please arrange your lesson time with Mrs. D. as soon as possible, before the June 4 recital, if possible.  If you know you are taking a break from piano this summer, that will be very helpful information to have before then also.
