Students Be in Charge of Your Lesson!

A little reminder . . .from our May Piano Notes

Mrs. D wants all of you to get the most out of your lesson time as well as keep lessons moving smoothly and on time.  Rarely, should anyone have to wait past their lesson time to get started.  You can help make this work well if you do two things:  1) practice at home the assigned work and 2)  have your books prepared before your lesson by doing the following:

Mrs. D is happy to demonstrate the process to anyone not already doing it.  However, Mrs. D. will no longer prepare the books for students who are capable of doing this on their own.  If you are 9 or older, please start this procedure for your next lesson.   You will be glad you did in the long run.

For those that continue to come in so well prepared . . . Thank you.  You save time and learn more at your lessons because you are prepared.  A special thanks goes to those students who come in and play their well practiced scale or etude first, while Mrs. D reviews the lesson notes from the previous week.  The scales/etudes help our minds and fingers start working together so we can tackle the lesson with more confidence and dexterity.

National Guild Auditions - April 6 and April 8

The Guild Auditions are at the Medley Center Mall (Irondequoit Mall) in the Denton's Piano store.  These are private auditions between the student and the judge.  No audiences are allowed as they are in the Gold Cup.  The detailed schedule is posted in the studio and and in the Guild Audition Schedule.

Annual Spring Recital - June 4, 2 pm
Faith Lutheran Church
2576 Browncroft Blvd., Penfield   585-385-8791

Our spring recital is for everyone, new students, prospective students, students who've been with the studio awhile and adult students too.  Bring relatives, friends, whoever wants to hear your best work.  This year, there will be a sign up sheet in the studio to bring something for refreshments.  You can also email Mrs. D if that's easier and she will add it to the list.  Usually soda, juice, cookies and other finger foods are fine.  Thanks for you help.
